Nasim's Specialties

Nasim has Accreditations in EMDR Therapy and specializes in healing from Childhood Trauma using innovative methods such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR Psychotherapy), Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, breathing techniques, and mindfulness practices to name a few. Furthermore, Child counselling (minimum age 7), Managing Adolescent Violence within the Home, Family Therapy and Couple Counselling is also provided.

NDIS and Work Cover fees

As an approved NDIS provider and an approved WorkSafe provider, fees for eligible clients are handled directly with these organisations. NDIS clients are charged at the rate of $193.99. 

Court Documents

Preparing Court documents will be $230 per page.

Late Cancellation Fee Policy

Out of respect to clients on the waitlist, Nasim has a late cancellation policy. A cancellation is considered late when the appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours before the appointed time.

A no-show is when a patient misses an appointment without cancelling. In either case, you will be charged the full payment of $165 for this missed/late cancelled appointment.

More about Nasim Yazdani

Nasim is a recognised mental health social work provider with Medicare Australia, Work Safe and NDIS, delivering clinical social work services, counselling and psychotherapy to people with mental health disorders. Nasim has an extensive level of work experience across both public and private sectors, including for organisations such as the Victorian Government, Anglicare and HeadSpace. 

Nasim has her Accreditations in EMDR Therapy, which is a psychotherapeutic treatment, designed to alleviate the distress associated with trauma responses.

Nasim also has formal training in other modalities such as Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Internal Family Systems’ Therapy. Furthermore, Nasim has incorporated doing Arts, and at times, the use of Sandtray in her private practice, to assist with vertical neuron integration, stabilisation and overall regulation of clients, leading them towards transformation. 

In recent years, Nasim has had the experience to work closely with patients from Intensive Psychiatric Units across East Melbourne as a Dual Diagnosis Counsellor.

The above complies with the standards of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). 

Her areas of expertise include the following:

 

  • Providing psychoeducation, counselling and therapeutic support to clients who present with symptoms or diagnosis of Mental Health disorders. These Mental Health Presentations include, but are not limited to, Dissociative Identity Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Borderline Personality Disorder, Bi Polar Disorder, Schizophrenia Disorder, Anxiety Disorder, Major Depression, Eating Disorders, Drugs or Alcohol Use Disorders, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, with complications of Suicidality or Active Hallucinations.
  • Ongoing counselling and therapeutic support to children and teenage clients around managing Drug and Alcohol Use Issues, Self-esteem issues, Anxiety, Identity Confusion, Suicidality, Depression, Adolescent Violence within the Home, Better Communication, Exposure to Domestic Violence, Neglect, Emotional Abuse, Sexual Abuse, Physical Abuse or general Childhood Trauma. Family Therapy is often provided during sessions to achieve better outcomes, when working with Adolescent clients.

  • Safety planning around high risk situations, including Domestic Violence, Suicidality or Psychosis.  

  • Relapse Prevention and Harm Minimisation.

  • Providing ongoing counselling and support to clients with Dual Diagnosis of Mental Health and Drug and Alcohol Use Issues.
  • Couple Therapy.

  • Providing parenting advice and support to parents.

  • Initiated one art group named “Arts and Parts” in Anglicare Victoria for clients, integrating modalities such as IFS and Art Therapy, to develop awareness and acceptance of parts, in a non judgemental, regulating way. 

  • Providing a trauma informed practice to vulnerable children. 

  • Trauma Processing, including Childhood Trauma and Incidental Trauma.
